International Gateway Academy gives the Stanford Achievement Test to grades 3, 5 and 8. This standardized test is administered in April of each year, with results coming out in May or early June. IGA uses the test to evaluate its curriculum and general progress of students.
In grades 9 and 10, students follow Cambridge International Education (CIE) curriculum leading to IGCSE tests administered in May and June. IGA is an official CIE testing center. IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) tests are given--or will be given in 2009-2010--in First Language English, English Literature, Co-ordinated Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geography, and World History. Students may also take exams in Art, Mandarin chinese, and Korean. Under OCR testing, students may also sit for Turkish exams. For more information go to:

College Board -- This is the website for helpful information on the PSAT, SAT, SAT Subject Tests, CLEP, and AP exams. Currently we offer--or will offer in 2009-2010--courses leading to the AP exams in English Language and Composition, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Comparative Governments and Politics, and Calculus AB. Most universities in the US and Canada require non-native English speakers to prove English proficiency. One of the ways is to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
